WMGC-FM team to walk in honor of radio personality's mother

Soft Rock WMGC-FM, Magic 105.1, is raising money for the nation’s largest Breast Cancer 3-Day team. The “3 Days of Magic” team will be led by Fay Samona, producer for Jim Harper & the Magic Morning Show, and four-time walker Sandra Bourdeau during the Michigan event which will run from September 28th through 30th. WMGC’s team of over 200 registered individuals has set a $205,000 team fundraising goal with over $175,000 having already been raised at press time.

The Magic team is walking in honor of radio personality Mike Bradley’s mom, Genevieve Sibel. Mrs. Sibel passed away on Feb. 9, 2007 after a one-year battle with breast cancer. Bradley is a member of the Magic Morning Show.

“I am so proud to be participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day this year, along with 205 of my fellow Magic walkers. I am honored to walk in the memory of Genevieve Sibel, Mike Bradley’s mom, who suffered from breast cancer until her passing in February 2007. I know these 3 days will be a mixture of tears, laughter, blisters and challenges, but I know it will truly be 3 days of magic!”

Local establishments will be hosting fundraisers to help the “3 Days of Magic” team reach their $2,200 per person goal. On June 30, the Outback Steakhouse in Chesterfield Township will be holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 to 11 AM. Also on June 30, Rocky’s Baker Streetcar Bar in Hamtramck is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti event from 4 to 8 PM.
