Detroit Free Press:

Dick Purtan easily wins the title of being Detroit radio's best friend to comedians. Over parts of five decades and now at WOMC-FM (104.3), he's provided many a laughmeister with radio time to drum up local audiences. Now it's time for a payback. WOMC'S 1st Annual Dick Purtan Comedy Night Out features Kathleen Madigan with Michael Kosta, Peter Berman, Greg Warren and what are billed as some of metro Detroit's best aspiring comedians. (They'll probably be perspiring, too!) It all happens July 13 at the Royal Oak Music Theater, 318 W. Fourth St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; seating is at 7:45 p.m. and the show will run from 8-10 p.m... Comedians sign on for Purtan's benefit (Sun, 6/10)
