Grand Rapids Press:

At 6-foot, 4-inches tall and 245 pounds, the guy with the Drew Carey glasses and haircut could be a one-man buffer zone between fans and performers at the annual B-93 Birthday Bash. He's also "the enforcer" on a men's hockey team and has the penalty minutes to prove it, but Doug Montgomery doesn't work crowd control. You're more likely to find him backstage glad-handing performers and making sure the annual country music festival this weekend in Ionia flows as smoothly as a drawn-out note from a steel guitar. Montgomery, 40, is the pit boss who oversees the free country music festival. Profile: B-93's Doug Montgomery (Sun, 6/24)

The B-93 Birthday Bash turned 15 Saturday on a beautiful, sun-drenched day with temperatures near 80 degrees. Traffic and crowd problems were minimal as about 65,000 people gathered at Ionia Fairgrounds for the annual free country music concert with headliner Dierks Bentley... Beautiful day for a Bash (Sun, 6/24)
