WRIF's merry pranksters Drew & Mike shot ahead of their morning competition, WYCD morning man Doctor Don is starting to make a dent in the a.m., and WJR sits atop the overall ratings pile yet again, as the spring 2007 Arbitron ratings were released Wednesday. Rock station WRIF-FM (101.1) had a very good spring, going up to No. 4 in overall radio listenership during the months of April, May and June. WRIF's No. 1 morning team Drew & Mike consolidated their lead over the rest of the pack, with a 9.9 share, up a whole point from their No. 1, 8.8 share in the winter ratings. The duo are two points ahead of No. 2 ranked WWJ... WRIF duo widens a.m. ratings lead (Thu, 7/26)

Wednesday's release of Detroit Arbitron radio ratings for the second quarter of 2007 showed the following:

• News-talk WJR-AM maintained the overall lead among all listeners ages 12 and older. The No. 1 station in the age 25-54 demographic many advertisers prefer was rocker WRIF-FM with a 7.6 rating.

• Mornings were dominated by WRIF's Drew Lane & Mike Clark. In the age 25-54 race, they scored an impressive 14.6, 1.7 better than their first-quarter tally. Steve Harvey on WMXD was second, far back with an 8.1. Among all listeners, Drew and Mike had a 9.9, followed by WWJ's Joe Donovan and Roberta Jasina with a 7.1... WJR-AM remains at No. 1 with metro Detroit listeners (Thu, 7/26)
