Don Vanuum has a satellite dish to receive some television channels and an antenna to receive others, but because of rules governing channel distribution, he can no longer receive an ABC network channel over the air, and that bothers him. Vanuum said until July 1, he was able to receive ABC locally on Channel 5/10 over the air. “I have a 30-foot tower with an antenna and a rotor on it,” he said. The antenna allowed him to receive Channel 5 which is licensed in Calumet and has its broadcast tower in Painesdale. The television channels he’s able to get with his antenna come in well, Vanuum said. “I get excellent reception,” he said. On July 1, WBKP Channel 5 became an affiliate of the CW television network, but Vanuum said he doesn’t care for its programing, and he wants to receive ABC again...
