Monroe News:

Get ready for a shake-up in area baseball broadcasts next season. The Toledo Free Press reports that WLQR (1470-AM), the Toledo all-sports radio station known as The Ticket, will drop Toledo Mud Hens broadcasts in 2008 in favor of the Detroit Tigers. Currently, WLQR carries Tiger games only when they don't conflict with the Mud Hens. That's good news for Tiger fans in south-county and the Toledo area who have found themselves hunting for the broadcasts since the Tigers moved left WJR and its 50,000 kilowatts. WXYT (1270-AM), Detroit's flagship station, has boosted its power. I picked it up 60 miles south of Toledo on Saturday. But the Detroit station doesn't even reach Bedford Township at night... Hens without radio home for '08 (Tue, 8/21)
