Flint Journal:

"Better Mid Michigan" is the name of a new morning show that will debut Sept. 10 on WNEM (Channel 5). It will move into the 9 a.m. slot, replacing the horrid "Tyra Banks" show.

Jocelyn Connell and Mike Cameron will anchor the program. Connell is co-anchor of "TV5 Wake Up," which airs from 5-7 a.m. weekdays on the CBS affiliate. Cameron is the "TV5 Wake Up" meteorologist ... Gone Country: Regent Communications Flint quietly converted its Lapeer AM station WLSP (1530) to a country format last March. Instead of simulcasting the WFNT (1470) signal, it's programming a mixture of modern and classic country as WLCO, dubbed "Lapeer's Real Country" ... Harried Harris: As if anchoring the market's top-rated newscast and organizing holiday and pops concerts with the Flint Symphony wasn't enough to keep him busy, WJRT (Channel 12) anchor Bill Harris has added another responsibility. Harris was elected recently to the board of governors of the Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences... 'Better Mid Michigan' is better yet (Fri, 8/10)
