Flint Journal:

One tradition will keep running this weekend, another won't. Saturday's 31st annual Crim Festival of Races will be the first since 1979 that won't be featured on local public television station WFUM (Channel 28), which signed on in 1980 with its first of 27 annual Crim recaps. Station manager Jennifer White said the decision to drop the program was about money. "It is largely a financial decision," White said. "It's a hugely expensive production for us. We have to pull in additional help. As I'm sure most people know, the station has been affected by state cuts to major universities and also on the federal level by cuts there." White said it wasn't an easy decision to make... Channel 28 comes off Crim course, while others pick up pace (Fri, 8/24)
