WJKN AM 1510 Jackson, owned by Spring Arbor University, has been silent since June 1st when it began experiencing technical difficulties with its transmitter and has been granted remain silent authority from the FCC.

WOAP AM 1080 Owosso, owned by 1090 Investments, has been silent since July 20th and has been granted remain silent authority from the FCC. In the application, WOAP states that grant of the special temporary authority to remain silent will serve the public interest by allowing the licensee to focus on resolving its financial concerns in an effort to resume station operations as expeditiously as possible, either at the presently authorized site or as specified in the construction permit authorizing a change in community of license to Waverly, Michigan.

• Educational Media Foundation closed on the purchase of the construction permit for WICE FM 88.3 Ironwood. The permit was purchased from Broadcasting for the Challenged for $400,000.

• Licenses were granted to the following new FM translators: W285DU 104.9 Fremont, W243BD 96.5 Beechwood, W225BA 92.9 Hastings, and W219DA 91.7 Paw Paw (owned by Horizon Christian Fellowship); W227BB 93.3 Fremont (Radio Assist Ministry).
