• Contemporary Christian Smile FM's WEJC-FM 88.3 White Star/Gladwin signal was granted a construction permit to change its effective radiated power from 30,000 watts @ 472 feet from a tower location just southwest of Gladwin to 55,000 watts @ 374 feet with a directional antenna located in Bay county north of Auburn. The station started operating at reduced power starting on August 1st so that the old 6-bay antenna could be rebuilt and prepared for the new tower site along with rebuilding the station's RCA transmitter. After the move is finalized, the Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland areas will notice a much better signal from WEJC. As of August 6th, the station was operating with 2,000 watts @ 260 feet from its new Bay county location while final technical details of the move were being completed.
• A license was granted to the following new FM translator: W232BH 94.3 Holly (owned by Educational Media Foundation).
• Contemporary Christian Way FM's WAYG-FM 89.9 Grand Rapids has applied to change its frequency to 89.7 and change its effective radiated power from 4,900 watts @ 207 feet to 6,000 watts @ 243 feet. If approved and built, the station's directional pattern would change, gaining the station increased coverage on the west side of metro Grand Rapids with some loss of signal to the east.
• Darby Advertising has been granted a construction permit for a new FM station at 95.3 to be licensed to Frederic (Otsego County). The Class A station would broadcast with 3,300 watts @ 447 feet from a tower located about halfway between Gaylord and Grayling along I-75 if built as specified in the construction permit. Darby is also the licensee of variety hits WMJZ-FM 101.5 Gaylord and strongly associated with variety hits WMJT-FM 96.7 Newberry.
