Grand Rapids Press:

Country music radio station WBCT-FM (93.7) certainly is consistent. Clear Channel's country powerhouse station is still No. 1 with listeners (12-plus) in Kent and Ottawa counties, according to the spring Arbitron ratings book. "It is great to be a part of station that is successful consistently on many different levels. The philosophy we always have believed in is that if you serve your community well and take care of your customers, great things will come," B-93 program director Doug Montgomery said. He was especially pleased that B-93 has increased its audience size to more than 324,000 listeners in the West Michigan Designated Marketing Area (DMA), which encompasses the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Muskegon metro areas. "We remain on top in the total listening area for over 12 straight years now," he said...B-93 rules radio ratings, again (Sun, 8/19)

Nearing the end of a $2.4 million capital campaign, Grand Rapids Community Media Center is making a final push to guarantee a $300,000 challenge grant from the Kresge Foundation. "We've made amazing progress," executive director Laurie Cirivello said. "We're running toward the finish line, but we don't want to lose that $300,000." The campaign, launched three years ago, has an overall goal of $2,434,800. If the CMC raises $2,134,800 by Sept. 30, the Kresge Foundation has pledged to top off the campaign. As of Wednesday, CMC was $186,169 short. "We're casting the net widely so everyone can participate," Cirivello said. A series of fundraising events are being planned, she said, as well as appeals televised on the media center's community access television stations, GRTV (Channel 25) and Live Wire (Channel 24), public radio station WYCE, 88.1 FM...
