Detroit News:

Greater Media Detroit jumped into the HD-2 pool before any other local broadcasters, in July 2005, and that forward thinking was rewarded by the National Association of Broadcasters last week. The NAB bestowed Greater Media-owned WRIF-FM (101.1) 's secondary channel RIFF 2 with the first HD Radio Multicast Award, recognizing the high-definition station for "innovating or groundbreaking programming." KBCO-FM in Denver was the other winner of the award. RIFF 2, under the purview of WRIF Program Director Doug Podell and RIFF 2 Program Director Mark Pennington , is a refreshing, youth-oriented mix of rock and rap, the kind of programming that can't be heard anywhere on the ordinary FM dial, where vast radio conglomerates are loathe to experiment with their multi-million dollar FM properties... WRIF's RIFF 2 wins HD Radio Multicast Award (Thu, 9/20)
