The late Merv Griffin's new game show is the biggest news in daytime TV as Detroit stations set up their daytime schedules for another year. Most of the shows start their new seasons Monday. "Merv Griffin's Crosswords," hosted by ex-soap star Ty Treadway, debuts at 2 p.m. Monday on WDIV-TV Local 4. WDIV is making the most changes as it tries to stop daytime ratings leakage that dates to the demise of its late '90s, in-your-face talk lineup (Jerry Springer, Jenny Jones and others). Elsewhere, the rest of the local daytime landscape is largely the same... New Griffin game show comes to daytime TV (Sun 9/9)
