Although WXYZ- TV (Channel 7) general assignment reporter Michael Rosenfield has been with the station for a little more than three years, he's not an anchor or a veteran and so he's still relatively unknown. But thanks to , Rosenfield gets a second chance to make a lasting impression on viewers. "Unless it's a major breaking story with continuous coverage, for example the Chrysler strike or the I-96 flood -- where we're on for a long period of time, most days as a reporter I'm on for just a few minutes in the newscast," Rosenfield says. "On we're on all the time, so it's a great way for viewers to see what reporters have been covering all day if they've missed the news on TV" ... Over at WDIV-TV (Channel 4), Web standouts on the station's include reporter Art Edwards, who has been with WDIV for seven years, and reporter Silva Harapetian ... WJBK-TV (Channel 2) has its share of Web stars on its myfox . Among them is general assignment reporter Camille Amiri, an Ann Arbor native, who has been with WJBK for a year... Crain's Detroit Business:

Cincinnati, Ohio-based E.W. Scripps Co.’s announcement this week that it plans to split itself into two public companies isn’t expected to affect operations at its metro Detroit television station, WXYZ-Channel 7. It will be “business as usual” when Scripps splits into a print and broadcast company and a digital and cable company, said Grace Gilchrist, vice president and general manager of Scripps-owned Channel 7, the region’s Southfield-based ABC affiliate. Scripps has owned WXYZ since 1986. Gilchrist said the move is a reaction to Wall Street’s dissatisfaction with the newspaper industry in general, which was affecting the growing cable and Internet properties... Scripps split won’t affect Channel 7 (Fri, 10/19)
