Shannyn Caldwell to join WMUZ's Jon Culbert
Christian WMUZ-FM 103.5 has announced that Sannyn Caldwell will join Jon Culbert on Monday morning, Oct. 8th, for the debut of the Culbert and Caldwell Show. The show will air weekdays from 6 - 10 a.m.
"I'm very excited to begin this new chapter of the show," says host Jon Culbert, who's been manning the show solo since the passing of his partner Rhonda Hart, adding "Shannyn brings a lot to the table, I can't wait to get started."
Shannyn Caldwell arrives at the Crawford Broadcasting outlet from Greater Media Detroit where she had served as a member of the air staff at Magic 105.1 and WCSX for the past five years. Her other resume credits include working at WOMC where she held the titles of music director, assistant program director, as well as doing some on-air work. In addition Caldwell was a producer for WLQV AM 1500.
And you thought Curtis Granderson's offseason started this week. Instead, his postseason is just beginning. While Tigers fans won't be able to see their team in October, they should be able to see plenty of their talented young center fielder during the playoffs over the next couple weeks. The catch is that he'll be on the other side of the coverage, taking his first plunge into broadcasting as an analyst, starting with Friday's coverage of the American League Division Series on TBS and continuing with League Championship Series coverage on ESPN. Actually, Granderson was already at it on Thursday. He arrived in Atlanta a day early to take a tour of the TBS Sports studios and ended up doing a guest spot on the set of TBS Hot Corner, the online partner to the TBS broadcast coverage. He finished up watching the TBS television crew of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., slugger Frank Thomas and host Ernie Johnson do their work to get an idea of the process... Now that WJBK-TV (Channel 2), WDIV-TV (Channel 4) and WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) have entered the electronic age, it's easier and more fun to hop on the Internet and catch up on Metro Detroit's hottest stories. Of all the local TV sites, WXYZ.com arguably had the best Web coverage of MGM Grand Detroit's casino and hotel opening this week... WXYZ.com beats the competition (Fri, 10/5)
