Veteran television advertising salesman Bob Sliva will succeed Grace Gilchrist as vice president and general manager of Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ-Channel 7 on Jan. 1. Sliva, 57, first joined WXYZ in 1987 as national sales manager before being appointed vice president of sales for Cincinnati-based Scripps Television Station Group, which oversees the station. Detroit native Gilchrist, 60, has led the station since 1994 and announced in September she was retiring... Channel 7 appoints successor to Gilchrist (Fri, 11/2)
