FSN to double number of games available in HD for 2007
FSN Detroit is more than doubling its high-definition output from a year ago, producing 60 of its 134 Detroit Tigers telecasts in HD, starting with Monday’s season opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The games will be shown on FSN HD, a channel available on high-definition cable service provided by Comcast, Bright House Networks and Wide Open West (WOW!), as well as via satellite on DIRECTV:
• Comcast – Ch. 201 (metro Detroit, Flint/Saginaw and West Michigan)
• Bright House Networks – Ch. 232 (western Detroit suburbs)
• WOW! – Ch. 220 (Detroit suburbs)
• DIRECTV – Ch. 96 or 97 (Detroit spot beam)
Viewers whose cable/satellite system is not listed above are encouraged to contact their video provider to add FSN HD to its high-definition channel lineup.
FSN Detroit began its HD telecasts last summer when the regional network delivered 27 Tigers games. Less than a year later, FSN Detroit is annually producing approximately 120 high-def games among the Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons.
“As the number of high-definition television homes continues to grow, we’re delighted to be at the forefront by providing the most local HD sports content,” said Greg Hammaren, Vice President/General Manager, FSN Detroit. “FSN is the nation’s industry leader in delivering sports in HD and we’re proud to offer 60 such games this season featuring the defending American League champion Tigers.”
