Crain's Detroit Business:

Popular Detroit radio personality (and Detroit Pistons public-address announcer) John Mason has no set sleep schedule. “It’s not important to sleep now,” he said. “If I get five hours a day, that’s enough.” Mason broadcasts his weekday morning show from his $600,000 studio in Detroit’s Guardian Building. The show airs on WGPR 107.5 FM in Detroit and WOWE 98.9 FM in Flint and is streamed on www. masonradio1.com. The Web site is temporary, but Mason expects a permanent site to be up later this month. Registered users will be able to watch videos and download podcasts. Mason is trying to syndicate nationally — an effort that began in July 2006, when he left WDMK 105.9 FM, a Radio One station. Due to a noncompete contract agreement, he was forced off the Detroit airwaves for six months. About a year ago, he returned to the air on WGPR... John Mason, Radio Host, Mason Radio (Mon, 1/7)
