WILX boss Mike King featured on Spartan Podcast

Mike King is an MSU alumnus and vice president/general manager of WILX-TV 10, Lansing’s NBC affiliate. King explains the transition of television broadcasts moving from analog to digital. The move is mandated by the Federal Communications Commission and takes place on February 17, 2009. He discusses how technology has dramatically changed the television industry into the media industry. But he says the mission of WILX to be hyper-local and serve the community has intensified and that it’s an exciting time to be in the media industry. He says students who want to enter the media industry need to be multitaskers above all else. Hosted by Russ White, check out the podcast at spartanpodcast.com/?p=365.
