Metro Detroit: Newsmakers Mar 5, 2008

Detroit News:

A number of Paula Tutman fans have been calling and e-mailing as of late wondering where the WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reporter has gone. Well, she's still with the station but has since moved to mornings. A promotion, Tutman's new job allows her to perk up early risers who tune into "Local 4 News Morning" from 5-7 a.m. weekdays. Tutman has been with WDIV, our local NBC affiliate, for 16 years working as a general assignment reporter. The Maryland native started in television news in the early 1980s as a reporter at WATE-TV (Channel 6), an ABC affiliate in Knoxville, Tenn., and went on to anchor and report at WLKY-TV (Channel 32), a CBS affiliate in Louisville, Ky., and WJZ-TV (Channel 13), another CBS affiliate in Baltimore. As the morning correspondent for "Local 4 News Morning" for about a month now, Tutman says what she likes most about her new job is learning new things... Paula Tutman's on WDIV's a.m. news (Wed, 3/5)

Detroit Free Press:

With Drew Lane's absence from WRIF-FM's morning show starting its sixth month, morning ratings were certainly the focus of Tuesday's monthly Arbitron report card for November and December of 2007 and January '08. WRIF can continue to be concerned that minus Lane, the morning show now hosted by Mike Clark and producers Marc Fellhauer and Mike Wolters lost 1.6 rating points in the key 25-54 demographic from the same period a year ago. But the station can take some solace that the 9.7 it carded was up 0.1 point from the final quarter of '07, perhaps signifying a pause in any further ratings leakage... Drew's still gone, but it's not all bad (Wed, 3/5)
