Once the king of morning radio, now he's the talk of it, as well as the subject of gossip in offices all around Metro Detroit. So it seems kind of silly to ask Drew Lane how he is. He's had better weeks. On Tuesday, the news broke that after being off the air for seven months to help his cancer-stricken fiancee, Tess Schuster, that Lane was in fact not returning to the morning show he launched 16 years ago. The news was triggered, Lane said Thursday, when word spread in the radio world that he was gauging interest in a syndicated show featuring himself and "Mr. Skin," a "Drew and Mike" (and Howard Stern) regular who comments humorously upon nude scenes in movies... Today's installment in the ongoing saga of the now-Drew Lane-less WRIF-FM (101.1) morning show? Lane and former partner Mike Clark finally got together over the phone Thursday and, according to Lane, had a forthright talk about who knew what when about the timing of Lane's resignation and about the seriousness of Lane's desire to move to an afternoon drive time slot for personal reasons. After a lengthy conversation, Lane says he and Clark are "on the same page more so than at any time since 2004." Lane says "both of us have been misled by numerous people involved in this scenario."
