Detroit News:

WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) is Metro Detroit's No. 1 station, sign-on to sign-off, according to the May 2008 Nielsen Media Research ratings book which closed this week. The station's numbers would've been even higher, if not for the writers strike, which forced hot shows such as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost" to end their respective seasons later in the month after the sweeps book had closed, depriving WXYZ of even juicer ratings coups. Despite this loss, the local ABC affiliate garnered a 4.6 rating/11.9 share, vs. WDIV-TV's 3.8 rating /9.8 share, WJBK-TV's 3.6 rating/9.3 share and WWJ-TV's 1.7 rating 4.4 share... WXYZ is the No. 1 Metro Detroit station (Sat, 5/24)
