Grand Rapids Press:

During his long tenure as program director of WBBL-AM (1340), Bret Bakita has witnessed a once-fledgling radio station grow into an influential presence on the West Michigan sports scene. Fifteen years ago, that kind of transformation might not have seemed plausible. The station will celebrate its 15th year of existence starting at 10 a.m. today with a barbecue and live broadcast of Bakita's "On The Bench" show at the Harold Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership in Grandville. The station actually received its WBBL call letters and all-sports format on May 25, 1994. Bakita was hired two days before that, and has been the station's only program director since then. He's seen plenty of changes over the years... WBBL turns 15 after humble beginnings (Fri, 5/23)
