Linda Yohn, WEMU music director and host of "89.1 Jazz'' on Eastern Michigan University's public radio station, has been nominated for two national jazz programming awards, including programmer of the year in a major market, by subscribers to JazzWeek magazine. Yohn has also been nominated for the Willis Conover-Marian McPartland Award for excellence in jazz journalism by members of the Jazz Journalists Association... The transition to digital television is coming in February, but the folks at the Ann Arbor Senior Center want to make sure consumers don't get scammed into spending unnecessary cash. To help consumers learn more about converter boxes and the federal government's converter box coupon program, the National Association of Broadcasters has mounted an awareness campaign that will stop at the Senior Center, 1320 Baldwin Ave., from noon to 2 p.m. Friday...
