West Michigan viewers soon can get a little extra morning news on WXMI-TV (Channel 17). Fox 17's Morning News will expand to four hours of weekday programming, from 5 to 9 a.m., starting Sept. 15. "Get ready; it's going to be fun," said news anchor Sarah Brodhead, who has been on staff since March. "We hope to make your mornings go better." Former WZZM-TV (Channel 13) anchor Tracy Forner, who was recently working in Indianapolis, will return to co-anchor the newscast with Brodhead... A 12-year-old Vicksburg singer will make her radio debut Thursday by presenting a song she co-wrote as she vies to win a country station's competition. Megan Rae Macher, a Vicksburg Middle School seventh-grader, will compete against 11 other West Michigan artists during the Hometown Showdown on B-93-FM 93.7. She is the youngest singer in the competition by at least 13 years, said ``Broadway,'' a B-93 radio personality ... The Hometown Showdown runs at 8 p.m. weeknights until a winner is announced.
