Detroit Free Press:

Will Drew Lane be returning to WRIF-FM (101.1) as its afternoon drive host? Lane's longtime rep, attorney Mike Novak, said an Internet report Friday that a Lane comeback was in the works was "fairly accurate, but it's premature because no deal has been struck. I think Drew has made no secret of his desire to get back on the air early next year." Novak was referring to a posting on, an influential radio trade Web site compiled by Tom Taylor. "It's not hard to believe that Drew would return to the place where he and former partner Mike Clark held court for so many years -- he loved 'RIF and he didn't want to leave Detroit," the Web site reported. "It's just that he was burned out from the grind of morning radio. ...So it might be -- shockingly -- Mike & Company in the morning and Drew in another daytime shift." Station general manager John Gallagher didn't respond to a request for comment Friday, but he was seen with Lane at a recent Tigers game. Heidi Raphael, Greater Media's chief spokeswoman, said Friday "there was nothing to the report"... Report of Lane's WRIF comeback is accurate, rep says (Sat, 9/13)
