"We weren't given an opportunity to say goodbye to our audience," Johnson said. "They called us in after the show to say our contract was up March 1, and they weren't going to be renewing it." The rumor had been out there that Greater Media Detroit, owner of WCSX, was interested in Deminski & Doyle for the morning slot. The brash duo left 97.1 (now WXYT) almost a year ago, and the "non-compete" clause of their contract would be expiring soon. Johnson had heard the rumor, and asked if that was behind the move. "They said it wasn't true," Johnson said. "But I feel it's probably the likely scenario"... WCSX fires morning show hosts 'J.J. and Lynne' (Tue, 11/11)
