• The Country King, Inc was granted a construction permit for a new FM station to be licensed to Harrison at 90.7. The station, which as of October 1 has the call sign WKKM, would operate at 100 watts @ 98 feet from near Harrison in Clare county and is owned by David Carmine who at one time owned what was WKKM on FM 92.1. According to the application for the station with the FCC, the educational objective of the station would be, "to educate, preserve, promote, and create an appreciation for the musical art form known as country music."

• The FCC approved the sale of Horizon Christian Fellowship's FM translator in Three Rivers (W245BM 96.9) to Impact Radio. Sale price was $11,000.

• No notable activity for August 6th, 7th, and 8th.
