WRCJ to air first concert from new DSO director live
Classical/jazz WRCJ FM 90.9 will be presenting a live broadcast of new Detroit Symphony Orchestra Maestro Leonard Slatkin's first concert as Music Director of the DSO on Thursday, December 11th. Coverage will begin at 7pm when WRCJ's Jack Goggin will present classic DSO recordings. Then at 8pm, Dave Wagner will host the historic debut concert of Slatkin, featuring the world premiere of A Different Soldier's Tale by Detroit native James Lee III, and a performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

WDET to help celebrate the spirit of the season this weekend
WDET FM 101.9, Detroit Public Radio, will offer up special holiday programming on Friday, December 12 and Saturday, December 13 with some public radio favorites from NPR:
- David Sedaris' "SantaLand Diaries" will air on December 12 and 13 at 12 noon
- Click & Clack's "Car Talk Christmas Carol" is scheduled for December 12 at 7pm and December 13 at 10am
- NPR's "Tinsel Tales" - featuring holidays stories from familiar public radio voices Scott Simon, Jay Allison and others will be broadcast on December 12 at 1pm
Plus, tune in for "Folks Like Us" with Matt Watroba (Saturdays 1-4pm) and Larry McDaniel, the "Arkansas Traveler" (Saturdays 4-6pm) as they bring you their holiday favorites.
