ESPN 100.9 thinking baseball
ESPN 100.9-FM, WLUN Pinconning will present five and a half hours of coverage of the 2008 Baseball Winter Meetings from the Las Vegas Convention Center this week Monday through Thursday. Coverage will begin Monday from 6:30-7pm immediately following Northwood Basketball Weekly, then continue Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 6-7pm. Loons' play-by-play broadcaster Brad Golder will anchor the program.
The show will feature interviews with some of the top names in baseball plus insight and analysis on all key developments at the annual gathering of Major League Baseball's top decision makers, from trades to free agent signings.
This week WLUN also will feature two high school basketball games in the station's continuing coverage of Saginaw Valley League basketball, presented by St. Mary's of Michigan. On Thursday, Bay City Central battles the Dow Chargers in girl's basketball with coverage beginning at 7:30pm. Friday marks the start of ESPN 100.9-FM's boy's basketball coverage, with Saginaw High, the two-time defending state champion, facing the Heritage Hawks.

Nearly every Michigan citizen knows that Digital TV is coming on Feb. 17, 2009 as all television stations nationally will switch from analog to digital format on that day. However, only about half of the people who have an older, analog TV and do not subscribe to a cable or satellite service have a plan to convert their TVs to digital. Before winter really sets in, we have to set up a plan to switch. I recently conducted a survey of Michigan viewers to determine their readiness for DTV in association with the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University. We found that everyone knows that DTV is coming, but only about half of the over-the-air viewers are moving toward transitioning...
