• In August 2008, FM translator W238AL 95.5 Portage switched from a relay of country WNWN-FM 98.5 to a relay of sister station adult urban WNWN AM 1560 with special temporary authority from the FCC. The stations are owned by Midwest Communications.

• In September 2008, country WTWS FM 92.1 reportedly began operations from its new facilities in Roscommon county near Houghton Lake.
