Bishop Robert J. Carlson announced Monday that WEYI-TV Emmy award-winning news anchor Erin Looby Carlson will join the Diocesan Center staff in May to help spread news about the Catholic church in mid-Michigan, particularly the extraordinary value of Catholic schools. Looby Carlson joins the bishop's pastoral team in the newly created role of director of marketing and communications. She is charged with promoting the rich quality education offered through the area's 26 Catholic schools, in addition to providing a leadership role in specialized evangelization and faith-based community development projects ... Prior to her work as managing editor and anchor with the NBC affiliate Channel 25 news team, Looby Carlson was employed by WBKB-TV in Alpena as a news anchor and multimedia journalist...
