A failed power supply blacked out the final seconds of a nail-biter as Michigan State took on Tennessee in the NCAA tournament Midwest Regional Championship game Sunday in St. Louis. Some local sports fans were stunned as the game deciding a trip to the Final Four froze as the Spartans were tied at 69 with 11.6 seconds remaining. Channel 9&10 Engineer Lowell Shore said power was lost in a rack that brings the signal from one building into WWTV. Power was restored by switching to another source.
