Kerri Cavanaugh, formerly news director for South Florida television station WSFL, has been named news director at Grand Rapids' Fox 17. Cavanaugh replaces Tim Dye, who left the station in July to join WXYZ in Detroit. She officially assumes her new duties in Grand Rapids on Sept. 8, according to general manager Patty Kolb. Cavanaugh also spent 11 years at WFTS in Tampa, Fla., and won the Edward R. Murrow Award for breaking news in 2008... FOX 17 names news director from Florida to replace Tim Dye (Thu, 8/26)
