All of the major Detroit-area television networks plan to air Detroit Public Television's broadcast of the debate between Michigan's gubernatorial candidates on Sunday. The 7 p.m. debate will be the first and only chance to see Republican candidate Rick Snyder and Democratic opponent Virg Bernero square off. The debate between the two governor hopefuls will be broadcast from the Detroit Public Television studios in Wixom and will be carried live by local TV stations WTVS-Channel 56, WJBK-Channel 2, WDIV-Channel 4, and WXYZ-Channel 7. In addition to the television broadcast, the debate can also be heard through the Michigan Radio Network and Michigan Public Radio. Local radio stations WJR-AM 760 and WWJ-950 will also be carrying the broadcast... Major Detroit-area network stations to air gubernatorial debate (Fri, 10/9)



Detroit News:

Detroit Public Schools is launching two new radio shows on WRCJ-FM (90.9) that will enable Detroit high school students to polish their communication and production skills both behind the scenes and in front of the mic. "DPS Backstage," an hour-long overview of the arts in the school district, debuted Wednesday and will air on the second Wednesday of each month. "Inside DPS," a half-hour, biweekly news program, premiers at 7 p.m. Oct. 24. Returning for a new season is the "Detroit Public Schools Radio Program," an hour-long news/variety show that started Oct. 6 and airs on the first Wednesday of every month. Students from Detroit School of Arts, where the WRCJ studio is located, will be involved in all aspects of the programs... DPS launches two new radio shows (Fri, 10/8)
