Lake Michigan Broadcasting signs off WMTE AM Manistee
WMTE AM 1340 Manistee has gone off the air as of midnight on September 30th. The station had been simulcasting the talk format of sister station WKLA AM 1450 Ludington for a number of years prior to owner Lake Michigan Broadcasting deciding to end operations at the 1,000 watt station. WMTE has operated since June 7, 1951 and was originally owned by John Manwell and John Campbell with Lake Michigan Broadcasting acquiring the station in 1996. A sale of the station is anticipated.

So long Bernie.
