Grand Rapids Press:
Local morning radio personality Gerry Barnaby is no longer on the air. WLHT-FM (95.7) today informed Barnaby -- host of the "Barnaby and Friends" show on W-Lite the past two years -- that the program wouldn't continue. "I just know that as of today 'Barnaby and Friends' is off the air, but I can't tell you what any future plans are," Barnaby said. "It's not like I haven't been through this before. Everybody in Michigan seems to have this possibility happen, so I don't feel like I've been singled out." Still, Barnaby said he was surprised he was let go, even if "in media, can you ever be surprised? It took me by surprise, but I don't take it personally." Executives with Townsquare Media (formerly Regent Communications) wouldn't comment on the move or what would replace Barnaby's show. Operations manager Jerry "JT" Tarrants said only that listeners should tune in to WLHT-FM at 6 a.m. Monday... WLHT-FM dumps Gerry Barnaby, host of the 'Barnaby and Friends' morning show (Thu, 10/7)
