WXYZ-TV and Art Van announce Together We Can

WXYZ-TV and Art Van Furniture have teamed up once again to make a difference in the fight against hunger in Metro Detroit.

From November 14th through December 12th, donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at any of the seventeen Art Van Furniture locations throughout Metro Detroit. The items will be given to Gleaners Community Food Bank for distribution to food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and disaster relief agencies throughout Southeastern Michigan.

It is estimated that one in eight people in Michigan will need emergency food assistance this year.

"The need in our community has never been greater," said Ed Fernandez, WXYZ-TV Vice-President and General Manager. "WXYZ-TV is proud to sponsor this event and to help make a difference in the lives of those in need in our community."

Together We Can is part of Channel 7's long-standing commitment to community service. For 33 years, WXYZ has helped provide emergency food assistance to organizations fighting on the front lines in the battle against hunger.
