Picture yourself at a lavish spectacle featuring a New York City-style runway, sipping a martini, bidding on a Porsche test drive and laughing the night away while helping out charity. The upcoming Design 1 Salon Spa Fashion Event at The B.O.B. gives you the chance to make this happen ... Like last year, Design 1's fashion event serves as the kickoff to Star 105.7's annual "Think Outside Yourself" Radiothon Dec. 15-17. It raised $274,000 last year alone for the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation. More than a $1 million has been raised for the hospital in the 10 years of its run.
"All local dollars. All of it stays here," said Star Program Director Kelly Iris, whose show airs weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The station will air inspirational stories based on experiences at the hospital throughout the radiothon's three days. Those wishing to donate online can do so Dec. 10-17 via westmichiganstar.com. A bank will be set up form 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Celebration Cinema South, 1506 Eastport Drive SE, Dec. 15-17 for drop-off donations...
