Bob & Tom get added to American Forces Radio Network

It's a natural alliance between the Premiere-syndicated Bob & Tom and the AFRN classic rock "Legacy" channel, and it begins in December. The show will be time-shifted so it runs in mornings in areas such as Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific. The "Legacy" service of AFRN (the onetime "Armed Forces Radio") is heard in 177 countries. The multi-award winning program boasts an impressive roster of better than 150 markets nationwide.

The Bob & Tom Show is available all over Michigan in places like Lansing, Grand Rapids, Flint, the Tri-Cities, Kalamazoo, and most of the northern lower peninsula, but not in Detroit. They had a short run, with little to no promotion, on WDTW (106.7 FM) about six years ago. The closest affiliate to Detroit's west and down river areas is WIOT-FM (104.7) in Toledo.

The duo got their start together in northern Michigan's FM 105.1, WGFM Cheboygan before moving to Indianapolis, their longtime home base.

Halftime features:

Hudson Tigers: This feature explores how much high school football means to the tiny town of Hudson, Michigan, represented this year's Division 7 championship game. From the late 1960's through the mid 70's, the Hudson Tigers won a then-national record 72 games in a row. To this day, the streak is a major part of the town's identity. Meet some of the people involved in that tradition, from coaches, players and community members.

High Schools with a Heart: A visit to the annual grudge match between Holly and Fenton that took on a caring cause this year as the schools donned camouflage uniforms and raised money for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans through the Wounded Warriors Project.

Note for Comcast subscribers: Comcast is expected to add FS Plus HD on Tuesday, November 23rd on channel 707. It's not clear what service tier will be required to receive FS Plus in HD.
