After stunting towards a new format since December 27th, Midwest Communications this afternoon has apparently unveiled Country as the new format on its WQTX FM 92.1 in the Lansing market. For now at least, it appears that 'Big Country 92.1' will be a full-time affiliate of Dial Global's primarily 1990's based True Country format - the station's new web site (big921.com) reveals an on-air lineup that features all of the jocks from Dial Global's roster for their True Country format.

Prior to the prolonged stunt WQTX had featured a classic hits format, and before that oldies. Midwest shifted classic hits to its WLMI FM 92.9 following a run with all-Christmas music and before that smooth jazz.

Legacy country outlet WITL FM 100.7, owned by Citadel Broadcasting, has had to face multiple in-format competitors through the years - a competition that WITL has, up to now at least, always managed to win.
