Grand Rapids Press:

When Dave Conrad woke up from a kidney transplant surgery Wednesday afternoon, the popular WBCT-FM (93.7) B-93 radio personality had only one thing on his mind - the B-93 "Listener Family."

"When he woke up finally, the first words out of his mouth were, 'Hey, make sure people post this on the page so people know,'" said B-93 Program Director Dave Taft, who received numerous calls from listeners inquiring about Conrad's health.

Taft said Conrad's wife, Susan, called to say everything went well during the approximately 3-hour surgery.

"They had him moving around this morning," Taft said.

A 2006 motorcycle accident en route to a Roofsit for Kids event triggered a previously dormant preexisting hereditary condition, resulting in ruptured cysts on Conrad's kidneys and the need for dialysis and a new kidney...
