What you want is to follow the follower, so the pressure is off and you're a hero from day one. Ask the two guys who replaced the two guys. Paul W. Smith knew that going in when he succeeded the late J.P. McCarthy. But he -- and everyone else in radio -- also knew the morning show on WJR-AM (760) was his dream job, and he wasn't about to pass it up.
