Mike Taylor has had a rough time lately -- but he's not letting his own personal woes keep him down. The longtime Sterling Heights resident is not only fighting cancer, but the condition has forced him to leave his job as a janitor because he can't keep up with the manual labor portion of the job.

Ron Brown has been on the radio for more than 30 years, but he's never spun records, given an on-air weather report or hosted a talk show. The 45-year-old Otsego man estimates he's won about $100,000 worth of prizes through radio contests and other promotions since he was a teenager.
