A format change in Detroit ... on TV

As had been announced previously, ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV Ch. 7 Detroit has changed the network on its 7.2 subchannel from RetroTV (RTV) to Living Well Network earlier today. The programming is airing in 4 x 3 format at 480i.

The switch was part of a larger agreement between ABC and WXYZ owner Scripps Howard that included a switch to LWN on the .2 subchannels on several of Scripps' TV stations across the country.



Detroit Free Press:

A metro Detroit radio DJ has died after being hit by a car in Northville last week. Jevon Hotchkiss, known as DJ Jevon Hollywood at WDTW-FM (106.7, the Beat), died at 5:10 a.m. today at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Northville Police Lt. Michael Wildt said. The 34-year-old was hit early Thursday as he walked along 7 Mile west of Haggerty.
