FOX Sports Detroit sets schedule for Michigan State University football programming

Spartan Football Season Preview premieres Friday, August 26th and Spartan Football All-Access returns each Sunday morning starting September 4th

FOX Sports Detroit's coverage of Michigan State football includes a half-hour Spartan Football Season Preview and another year of the university-produced weekly program Spartan Football All-Access. The preview show premieres Fri. August 26 at 7:00 p.m. with multiple re-airs in the days leading up to the Spartans Sept. 2 season opener vs. Youngstown State (also Sat. Aug. 27, 7 p.m.; Sun. Aug. 28, 7:30 a.m.; Mon. Aug. 29, 12:00 p.m.; Wed. Aug. 31, 7:00 p.m.; Fri. Sept. 2, 2:30 p.m.).

The half-hour show is hosted by Ryan Field with reports from Shannon Hogan, Trevor Thompson and Justin White. The season preview contains the following segments: Former Spartans QB Jim Miller breaking down film with current signal-caller Kirk Cousins, a look at the offensive line and how the veterans are forming a bond with the newcomers both on and off the practice field, how the Spartans will fill the hole in the defense with the departure of star linebacker Greg Jones, a visit with linebacker Max Bullough and his grandfather, former coach Hank Bullough, as Max becomes the third generation from his family to play for the Spartans, head coach Mark Dantonio talks about the journey to the top of the Big Ten and the challenge to stay there.

Spartan Football All-Access premieres each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. starting Sept. 4, repeated Mondays at 6:00 p.m, Thursdays at 12:00 p.m and Fridays at 2:30 p.m. Each episode recaps the previous game and looks ahead to the next opponent, plus other in-depth and behind-the-scenes features involving the MSU football team.

FOX 17 reporter Lisa LaPlante, one of the original members of the WXMI-TV news team, is leaving the station after nearly 13 years. LaPlante has accepted the position of marketing and communications manager for the Kent County Health Department.
