Lansing State Journal:

Budgetary woes have led to the layoff of several WKAR employees this week. Kirsten Khire, spokesperson for the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University, which merged with the PBS radio and TV station last month, said she could not say how many employees were laid off but said the cuts were spread across WKAR's divisions. Rob South, a seven-year news reporter with WKAR Radio, was among those employees who received a layoff notice. He said he will lose his job at the end of September.

MACDONALD BROADCASTING Country WKCQ/SAGINAW MD JOHN RICHARDS has exited; his MD duties will be covered by OM GREG COLE. RICHARDS also did the afternoon show for Classic Hits sister WMJO (JOE)

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WOOD-A and Talk WTKG-A/GRAND RAPIDS PD PAUL CASHIN has exited the stations. AC WSRW (STAR 105.7) PD KELLY IRIS adds responsibility for WOOD and WTKG.
