FOX adds Tigers' game to Saturday schedule
Saturday's Major League Baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics, which was originally not scheduled to be broadcast on television, will now air on FOX broadcast stations in Michigan and Toledo, OH following an agreement between the Tigers, FOX Sports Detroit, Major League Baseball and FOX.
Stations that will now carry the game include Ch. 2 Detroit, Ch. 17 Grand Rapids, Ch. 66 Flint, Ch. 47 Lansing, Ch. 32 Cadillac/Traverse City, and Ch. 36 Toledo. Ch. 11 in Alpena will also have the game on its .2 subchannel as will Ch 6 in Marquette.
Saturday's game has the potential of being a Central Division clinching game for the Tigers - they can clinch with any combination Tigers wins or Cleveland Indians losses totaling 2 and any Tigers win or Chicago White Sox loss.
"We're thrilled Saturday's game will be telecast live for Tigers fans to continue following the club's pennant chase," said David Dombrowski, Tigers president, CEO and general manager. "We want to thank FOX Sports Detroit, FOX and Major League Baseball for a collaborative effort in making this happen."
