WOMC/Detroit, WLEN/Adrian win Marconi awards
Congratulations to classic hits WOMC-FM 104.3 Detroit on winning the Marconi for Oldies Station of the Year and full service/adult contemporary WLEN-FM 103.9 Adrian on it's Marconi for Small Market Station of the Year.
The winners were announced yesterday at the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show in Chicago.

A local radio personality is taking to the roof to raise money to help end child abuse and neglect. As part of the 19th annual Roofsit for Kids put on by 93.7, B-93's Neal Dionne is making a temporary home on the top the Michigan Kenworth building, 7393 Expressway Court SW in Grand Rapids.

Dick Nelson remembers the first Grand Valley State football game he called on the radio, but he can recall the second one a lot better. In 1977, the Lakers hosted Bowling Green, who were led by former Michigan State coach Denny Stolz, at Houseman Field. GVSU played tough, but lost 17-6. The game left a deep impression on Nelson.
