Time to carve that pumpkin to the sounds of the Grinch

As the clock struck 5 p.m. this afternoon, it was officially time to start celebrating the Christmas season in Detroit as pop WMGC-FM 105.1 flipped to "Christmas 105.1".

So as you're passing out candy for Halloween and carving your turkey for Thanksgiving, you'll also have the opportunity to make believe it's actually December 25th.

The annual switchover to Christmas music by radio stations across the U.S.A. has typically resulted in a ratings bonanza - despite the inevitable criticism from some listeners that prefer to wait to listen to the sounds of the season until it's actually the season.
